The Hunt

The Livingstone Hills in southern Alberta, our hunting experiences are as diverse as the wildlife we pursue. With a focus on mule deer, whitetail deer, Rocky Mountain elk, Shiras moose, black bear, wolves, and coyotes. Our hunts cater to a variety of preferences and styles. We offer hunters the flexibility to choose their preferred mode of transportation, whether it's through the use of off-road vehicles (ORVs) like quads or side-by-sides, registered smaller on-road vehicles, backpacking on foot, or the timeless tradition of horseback riding. The hunter's preference dictates the method, creating a personalized and immersive experience in the breathtaking wilderness.

Our hunting season runs from mid-August to end of November, this is determined by the species hunting, and dates are hunter preference. The dates are fairly flexible and the experience can be tailored to each hunters needs and wants. More information on specific dates can be requested.

Horseback Hunting: For those seeking a more traditional approach, our horseback hunts provide a unique and authentic experience. Horses serve as the primary mode of transportation, allowing access to remote areas of the backcountry. No prior horse experience is necessary, but a level of comfort with these noble animals enhances the overall quality of the adventure. Comfortable camps, complete with a packhorse string, are packed in to provide as many comforts as possible, creating an unforgettable journey into the heart of the wilderness.

Backpack Hunts: Embracing the culture of modern hunting, our guided backpacking hunts are tailored for athletic and fit individuals eager to venture deeper into the backcountry. Hunt on foot with backpacking tents and provisions for the duration of the hunt, enabling quick movement and minimizing ecological impact. This option appeals to hunters who relish the challenge of a more self-sufficient and nimble approach to the pursuit of game.

Off-Road Vehicles: Abundant forestry roads provide a network for our team to navigate, leading hunters to strategic vantage points for optimal glassing and hunting opportunities. The use of ORVs (side-by-sides or quads) adds a practical and efficient dimension to the hunting experience, ensuring that no prime location is out of reach.
