The Lodge
"At the lodge, every sunrise brings a new opportunity for adventure, and every sunset paints the sky with hues of relaxation and contentment."
Livingstone Lodge is located in Maycroft, Alberta, nestled into the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in the south-western part of the province. The lodge offers a unique blend of comfort and proximity to nature in the heart of the Canadian wilderness. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and with a backyard view of the mountains, the lodge provides a perfect base for hunters, fisherman, tourists and visitors alike.
This picturesque timber framed lodge has 6 bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, and large living spaces for entertaining. The lodge's rooms are designed for groups of various size, featuring multiple beds per room and in total can comfortably accommodate up to 12 people. After a day of hunting, guests can gather in the common living space, complete with a cozy but grand rock gas fireplace—perfect for sharing stories and unwinding. There is an outdoor kitchen for our hunters/guests to enjoy and celebrate a successful day with grilling deer, elk, or moose steaks--the experience is enhanced by the serene surroundings and the camaraderie of fellow hunters. Exceptional meals are a highlight of the Livingstone Lodge experience, featuring delicious and healthy Western-style cuisine prepared by our professional cooks. Our beautiful dining room area seats up to 14 guests for sit down meals for you and your party to experience the classic hunting lodge feel. Guests can enjoy three hot and ready meals each day or opt for bagged lunches for added flexibility. Meals will be tailored to guests and their dietary needs upon request. The Lodge is equipped with modern amenities for your comfort, including WiFi, but the Livingstone Hills area has an absence of cell phone service. Guests can choose to unplug completely and immerse themselves in the tranquility of the wilderness, fostering a genuine escape from the demands of everyday life.
Livingstone Lodge offers convenience without sacrificing seclusion. Just under one hour away is the nearest towns of Blairmore and Pincher Creek, which has shopping and access to any goods needed. As well, West Castle Mountain Ski Hill and Resort, is just 1.5 hours away, and the renowned Fernie Ski Resort, a two-hour drive, makes it an ideal destination for those seeking both hunting and recreational activities. We welcome not only hunters but also their partners and families. For those accompanying the hunters, there are opportunities to explore the local area, engage in outdoor activities, or simply relax in the comfortable surroundings of the lodge.
The lodge is not limited to the hunting season; it also hosts events and guests all year round. From fishermen seeking the renowned Oldman River, famous for flyfishing just ten minutes away, to retreat groups and yoga enthusiasts, Livingstone Lodge welcomes diverse guests. We would be happy to book your next getaway whether hunting or a weekend away in the country.
Also, biannually and in collaboration with Jessie Young, we host an event called the High Country Huntress. An event created for women, by women to give an exclusive opportunity for ladies to learn backcountry hunting skills and outdoor craftsmanship. This empowering event encompasses horse packing, fly fishing, skinning, butchering and processing wild game, wild game cooking, long gun shooting, shot gun shooting and so much more. Please email us for more information and dates on these events .
Whether you seek a weekend getaway, participation in one of our events, or a memorable hunting adventure, Livingstone Lodge invites you to embrace the unparalleled beauty of the Canadian wilderness and create lasting memories in the comfort of their warm and inviting accommodations.
